The short version
- PDFs, videos, images and compressed files are processed and stored in your own browser. They are not uploaded to us.
- We store your account (name, email, a scrambled form of your password) and the documents you save in the apps.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking cookies.
- You can delete your account and everything in it from your workspace — no email needed.
What we store on our servers
- Your account
- Your name, email address, and your password as a one-way bcrypt hash. We can't read your password.
- Sign-in sessions
- When you sign in we keep a session record (when it expires and your browser's user-agent string) so we can sign you out everywhere and keep the account secure. It is held in a single essential cookie.
- What you save in the apps
- Scribe documents and their version history, Gridora workbooks, Sparkdeck decks, FluxCut project timelines, your Folio edits (file names, annotations, notes, bookmarks, form fields and any signatures you place — not the PDF itself) and Pressa compression history (file names, sizes and settings — not the files).
What stays on your device
The heavy files — PDFs you open in Folio, media you add to FluxCut, Scribe or Sparkdeck, and the files Pressa compresses — are kept in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) and processed there. They aren't sent to SEMDIV. Clearing your browser data, or deleting your account from that browser, removes them. Your colour theme is remembered in your browser too.
Who else is involved
- Vercel hosts the website and runs the server code.
- TiDB Cloud (PingCAP) hosts the database, in Amazon Web Services' US East region — so your account data is stored in the United States.
- Google Fonts and Fontshare serve some of the typefaces you can pick in the editors. Your browser requests them directly, which shares your IP address with those services.
- Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev) answers word look-ups in Folio. Only the word you look up is sent.
We don't share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and saved work for as long as your account exists. Expired sessions are no longer valid. When you delete your account, your account and everything saved in it are removed from the database straight away.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (and similar laws elsewhere) you can see, correct and erase your personal data, and withdraw consent. In SEMDIV you can export your work from each app, and you can erase everything with Delete account at the bottom of your workspace. For anything else, open an issue or reach out through github.com/adarsh560.
Security and children
Connections use HTTPS, passwords are hashed with bcrypt, and sessions are signed and can be revoked. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else. SEMDIV isn't meant for children under 18 without a parent or guardian's consent.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be shown in the app before they take effect.
